Dr Si Chen
Dr. Si Chen was a Research Associate at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. In 2022, he was also a Darwin College Cambridge Zero David Mackay Research Associate.
His research focuses on modelling kelp's interactions with physical and biogeochemical environments. He applies this model to assess macroalgae cultivation's potential for carbon dioxide removal (CDR). His current research focuses on mitigating biophysical constraints in global seaweed farming through depth cycling.
Si Chen's academic background is in Marine Science and Fluid Dynamics. He earned his PhD from the University of North Caroline at Chapel Hill.
