New Paper: Modelling the photocatalytic oxidation of methane for applications in ventilation systems
The paper, led by Dr Samuel Tomlinson - former CCR PostDoc and current Lecturer at the University of Greenwich - explores whether Titanium Dioxide, used as a catalysis activated by UV-C light, could break down methane passing through ventilation systems.
Working alongside CCR Director, Shaun Fitzgerald together with academics at Stanford University, Samuel has been experimenting the past few years with Dr Aliki Tsopelakou at the University of Cambridge on whether the potent greenhouse gas, methane, can be oxidised into carbon dioxide using existing systems already in the build environment.
