My PhD research focuses on computational modelling to explore oceanic carbon dioxide uptake and its projected changes under increasing global temperatures. I am particularly interested in how climate change-driven shifts in ocean circulation influence nutrient availability and consequently, the biological carbon pump. A key project I am working on examines the effects of warming-induced weakening of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) on oceanic carbon and heat budgets, alongside nutrient distribution. I am also interested in the implications of these changes for ocean-based carbon dioxide removal strategies, such as Marine Biomass Regeneration.
