Jake Chapman
Jake commenced his PhD with the Centre for Climate Repair in 2023/24 and is based in the Department of Engineering.
His PhD is focused on researching and developing energy-efficient seawater aerosol generators for marine cloud brightening (MCB) and is working on two novel spray methods.
His work is dedicated to testing both of these methods, developing small-scale prototypes, and understanding their feasibility and practicality for the application of marine cloud brightening. For marine cloud brightening to be scalable, low power sprayers will be necessary - it is hoped that novel spraying technologies and methods, such as those that Jake is researching, will allow marine cloud brightening to be more feasible and deployed at scale.
