Ummugulsum Alyuz

Dr Ummugulsum Alyuz is a Research Associate in the Archibald group at the Yu​​suf Hamied Department of Chemistry, working on Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI). Her research focuses on understanding how injected aerosols move and evolve in the stratosphere by combining climate model simulations with air-mass trajectories, supporting plume-scale modelling within the SAIM project. She also contributes to the ECLIPSE project, where she studies Cellulose Nanocrystals as a potential alternative SAI material by integrating laboratory evidence with atmospheric radiation modelling and Earth-system simulations.
